HVAC Technician

Five Star Mechanical is looking for someone who has experience in light commercial and/or heavy commercial markets to join our team. HVAC Service Mechanics must be skilled in their trade, and we prefer a minimum of 5 years of working experience in the HVAC mechanical equipment industry. As a Service Mechanic you represent Five Star Mechanical by serving our customers directly and will be responsible for servicing equipment and ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, examining, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location. The main function of this position is to respond and resolve service calls providing technical support and troubleshooting to Five Star customers and their HVAC mechanical equipment. Additional responsibilities related to this position include preventive maintenance, time and material work, equipment upgrades and service repair jobs. These customers will have various products installed that fall into HVAC and automation controls and you will be the customer’s subject matter expert. Key Responsibilities • Maintenance and repair of Chillers, Rooftop Units, Air Handling Units, Exhaust Fans, Split Systems, Boilers, Pumps, Coils, Water Heaters, Unit Heaters, etc. • Has knowledge of troubleshooting concepts and can repair mechanical systems • Provide contract preventative maintenance on various pieces of HVAC or refrigeration equipment • Complete required documentation for work performed or other contractual obligations • Follows all safety standards and use of PPE and attend required safety training. YOU MUST HAVE • 5+ years of experience • Ability to work independently. • GED • Ability to travel throughout the service area, with occasional overnight stays. • Valid Driver’s License and driving record acceptable to Five Star • Appropriate experience to work with refrigerants. • Good verbal and written communication skills LIKE TO HAVE • 5+ years of mechanical HVAC experience • Training and previous experience with various manufacturers.
