HVAC Technician

TruFit is seeking an experiencedHVAC Technicianon behalf of our partner client based inKent, WA. This role involves the installation, service, and maintenance of portable HVAC systems used in temporary or emergency environments. Technicians will be responsible for field operations, diagnostics, and customer service in varied commercial and industrial settings. Position Title:HVAC TechnicianLocation:Kent, WAJob Type:Full-Time, HourlyPay Rate:$28.00 – $40.00/hour (based on experience) Key Responsibilities • Install & Maintain Equipment:Deliver, set up, service, and repair portable HVAC units at customer sites. • Troubleshoot & Repair:Perform routine maintenance, diagnose system issues, and make necessary repairs using appropriate tools and procedures. • Team Collaboration:Communicate job status and service notes using mobile devices and company systems. • Maintain Standards:Ensure vehicles and equipment are clean, organized, and meet company standards for safety and professionalism. Requirements: • Experience:3+ years in HVAC installation, service, or repair; experience with portable or temporary HVAC systems is a plus. • Certification:EPA Type 2 or Universal required. • Technical Skills: • Familiar with meters, refrigerant tools, vacuum pumps, and combustion analyzers. • Ability to read low- and high-voltage wiring diagrams. • Preferred: Experience with fuel-fired equipment (natural gas, LP, or fuel oil). • Driving Requirements: • Valid driver’s license with clean 5-year record. • 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred. • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card. • Experience with box trucks or sprinter vans is a plus. • Physical Requirements:Capable of lifting 25+ lbs, climbing ladders, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. • Tech Savvy:Able to use mobile devices and apps for job tracking, communication, and record-keeping. Work Environment • Schedule:Full-time with rotating on-call shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays). • Peak Season:Overtime opportunities during extreme weather events and high-demand seasons (summer/winter). • Field Work:Includes short local trips and occasional multi-hour equipment deliveries and installations. • Warehouse Support:When not in the field, technicians assist with prepping, testing, and cleaning HVAC units for deployment. • Work Sites:Range from commercial and retail to construction and industrial settings.
