HVAC Technician

Job Title: HVAC Technician Location:Houston, TX Salary:$85,000 per year Schedule:Monday to Friday Position Overview: An experienced HVAC Technician is needed to support a large educational campus in Houston, TX. The role involves maintaining, servicing, and repairing HVAC systems to ensure a comfortable, efficient, and safe learning environment for students and staff. The technician will work as part of an on-site facilities team responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school buildings. Key Responsibilities: • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of HVAC equipment and controls. • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. • Maintain indoor air quality standards and ensure optimal system performance. • Monitor and adjust building automation systems to maximize energy efficiency. • Respond promptly to service requests and work orders from the school facilities management team. • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and system conditions. • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety codes, standards, and regulations. • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors to complete projects and resolve complex issues. • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all site policies and procedures. Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician, preferably in an educational or commercial setting. • Current HVAC license or certification required (as applicable in Texas). • EPA Universal Certification. • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and controls, including building automation systems. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Must be able to pass background checks as required for working on school sites. Work Environment: • Position is based full-time at an educational campus in Houston. • Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call responsibilities as needed. • Work will involve standing, climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
