• The 14-day in-house notice is incorporated in this job announcement.The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of HVACR Technician in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to six (6) months or up to one (1) year, depending on employment status.**Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled tasks involved in the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and evaporative cooling units; and performs related duties as assigned.**NOTE TO CURRENT EMPLOYEES: Pursuant to the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement, full-time non-probationary employees successfully completing the assessment process will be placed on an eligibility list to be used to fill vacancies in this classification for up to six (6) months.Probationary full-time, part-time, temporary employees, and external candidates who successfully complete the testing process will be placed on separate list(s), which may be used to fill vacancies for up to one (1) year. Graduation from high school or the equivalentTwo (2) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of evaporative cooling units and ventilation systemsNote: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be consideredMust possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483Possession of a minimum Type I and II Refrigerant Recovery Certificate as required by Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, 1990, as amended (final regulations published May 14, 1993 [58fr28660]) at time of hire, and maintenance of current certification as a condition of continued employmentDesirable: Graduation from an accredited HVACR vocational training programDesirable: Completion of an apprenticeship program as an air conditioning and heating mechanicMust pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants checkMust complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every year. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employmentAll required licenses and certificates, as mandated by state and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained, and maintained at incumbent’s expense
