HVAC/Refrigeration Tech

Responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance and routine repairs in various building, life safety and utility/support systems. This is a HVAC/R role. Major Responsibilities: • Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Documents through use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). • Conducts preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems such as plumbing, medical gas, fire alarm, HVAC and electrical systems. • Manage response and repairs associated with emergencies such as leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages, equipment failures, etc. • Reads blueprints, Life Safety drawings and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required: • Valid Driver’s License Education Required: • High school diploma or GED equivalent Experience Required: • Less than 2 Years Experience in equipment maintenance Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures. • Basic computer skills in using systems such as CMMS, building automation system, Microsoft Office. • Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work with minimal oversight with basic technical skills in facility maintenance. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: • Works required shifts and participates in on-call duty to provide 24/7 coverage. • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday. • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance. • Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force. • Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions. • Position requires travel. May be exposed to road/weather hazards. • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job. Preferred Job Requirements: • Trade/Tech School Certificate • Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or trades or industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education or periodic renewal to maintain. • Preferred: 1+ Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations.
