We are looking for a Technology Analyst to join the Hydrogen Technology team and evaluate relevant solutions across our key focus areas: water/steam electrolysis, conversion to hydrogen derivatives (ammonia, methanol, SAF, etc.), methane pyrolysis and ammonia cracking.


You’ll have the opportunity to be an early team member in a fast growth company in the green hydrogen industry. The role reports to the Head of Technology for Gentari Hydrogen.



Responsibilities

Support for H2 projects

  • Support individual projects, taking ownership for the comparison of available technical solutions and for providing accurate data to the project team.
  • Support business development and commercial teams with assessing new opportunities. Evaluate hydrogen supply chain proposals to facilitate strategic discussions and decision making.
  • Provide technical input and advice to project partners or acquired companies. Engage with partners, including Petronas group companies, to help develop clean energy solutions.
  • Review vendor documentation to ensure that their input matches project requirements, flagging potential integration issues at an early stage.
  • Identify and assess technical risks, proposing risk mitigation and control measures.

Technology evaluation

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining an inventory of technology options for different elements of H2 value chains, to support project development and decision making.
  • Maintain and expand the database of electrolysis technology solutions, engaging with established suppliers as well as technology start-ups to collect data and keep track of relevant developments.
  • Track innovations in electrolyzer design and operation that can improve plant performance and reduce the levelized cost of producing H2.
  • Analyze new technologies and companies active in the key focus areas, in the context of proposing alternative technical solutions to ongoing projects, setting up demo projects, or evaluating investment opportunities.
  • Carry out technical reviews for binding/non-binding agreements, contracts and tender evaluations, to ensure completeness of requirements and protect the interest of the company.



Requirements

  • Relevant engineering or science degree (preferably chemical engineering or electrochemistry);
  • 2 to 6 years of experience in relevant industry roles (e.g., R&D / technology development, process engineering, technical consulting). Previous experience related to H2 technology is a plus;
  • Able to analyze data (excel at a minimum, Python or Matlab skills are a plus) and generate succinct reports and presentations for the wider team;
  • Adaptable and eager to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment; and
  • Motivated to learn, as the role will require you to deep dive into specific technology areas and assist project teams with selecting the right option(s).
