As an IBM Z Hardware Specialist you will provide remote English speaking support to WW customers including Japanese customer for hardware product failures and defects in collaboration with field technicians and others. IBM Z is a mission-critical and the most reliable hardware product on the earth. IBM Z is a product that supports the social infrastructure on which many mission-critical operations run. We are looking for someone who is aware of how our products are used and has the ambition and global communication skills to improve as an IBM Z hardware product support specialist.
Your Role and Responsibilities

As a member of the IBM Z H/W Global Support Team you will be primarily responsible for providing support for IBM Z hardware failures.
The role will include: Problem determination on hardware failure creating action plan to resolution explaining problems to customer coordinating maintenance window directing action plan to IBM service engineer and ordering parts if required.
QA response to inquiries from both internal and external customers
The responsibility of this role is to help customerβs continuous and stable IT operation by providing expertise on IBM Z Hardware working closely with upper level support members in Worldwide.

As a member of the global support team you will support customers both in Japan and around the world.You will collaborate with IBMers in various parts of the world to help others both domestically and internationally. You will have opportunities to talk directly with customers in Japan and overseas via phone email Microsoft Teams etc.
You will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks such as developing analysis tools necessary for support.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- CEFR B1 or higher English proficiency
- Experience in maintenance and support (2+ years any product)
- Knowledge of hardware or networking (can explain the role of hardware components how the network works etc.)
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Must be comfortable speaking English.
- Able to come to the office at least 3 days a week
- Must enjoy communicating with team members.
- Willingness to learn the latest technology and apply it to the job is desirable.
- Linux related certifications (LPIC etc.)
- Network related certifications (CCNA etc.)
