Your Role and Responsibilities

As an IBMer Communications professional you will create experiences that engage other employees in our enterprise strategy and how they contribute to our business and our clients’ success. As part of the IBM Japan Communications team you will partner with business units and functions to provide IBM employees with the knowledge information and clear calls to action needed to work effectively and deliver business results while also building the community’s belief in and advocacy for the IBM brand. In order to make this happen you will leverage your writing and storytelling capabilities to bring behavior sentiment and engagement data to life.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Understand our internal audience and what drives action when developing and executing strategies messages assets and programs
• Develop a deep understanding of IBM’s overall strategy and growth initiatives to ensure all content and programs help IBMers see themselves within our strategy and as contributors to IBM’s growth
• Plan and organize company-wide town halls manager meetings AMAs and other programs to help IBMers understand our strategy and improve employee engagement
• Collaborate with business units and corporate functions to identify and introduce success stories that motivate employees
• Create compelling stories in various formats that are easy to understand for employees at all levels (intranet articles newsletters presentations videos etc.)
• Manage company-wide intranet sites and Slack channels for broad information sharing

This is a Hybrid role attendance to the office is currently required only 3 times per week.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience in a creative communications role with proven success in internal and executive communications
• Strong writing and storytelling capabilities in Japanese (Native or JLPT N1) and English (Business-level)
• Ability to analyze data to drive decision making and underpin continuous improvement efforts
• Collaborative team player who is enthusiastic about partnering across teams inside and outside of Communications
• Experience in managing large scale in-person and virtual meetings
• Experience in using communication tools (Marketo Slack Intranet)

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Graphic and video editing skills (Adobe Photoshop Adobe Premier Pro)
• Experience working in an IT industry is a plus
