We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Individual Tax Specialist to join a well-established, local firm. It’s not just about crunching numbers for them. Responsibilities/Duties: · Prepare and review individual tax returns · Assist with other returns for senior team members as needed · Gather, organize, and analyze client tax documents · Identify tax-saving opportunities and advise clients on deductions, credits, and planning strategies · Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations · Research and resolve client inquiries related to individual tax matters · Maintain accurate and detailed client records and workpapers · Communicate with clients in a professional and timely manner to request additional information and explain return results · Assist with responding to IRS or state tax notices and suppliant client representation when needs · Stay current on tax law changes impacting taxpayers Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Must possess excellent communication skills and exchange information with others accurately · Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals · Exceptional organization in managing time with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail, and meet strict deadlines while working independently or with a team · Apply critical thinking skills to solve complex problems while supporting the growth of a team Required Skills, Education and Experience: · Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, required · Bachelor's degree in related field, required · At least two years individual tax experience, required · Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and Online, preferred · Proficient in Lacerte and MS Office Suite, preferred Supervisory responsibilities:None Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
