This role requires expertise in industrial electrical systems, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues in production machinery, power distribution systems, and control panels. • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime. Installation & Upgrades: • Install and wire new equipment, motors, and control systems. • Upgrade outdated electrical systems to improve efficiency and meet regulatory standards. Safety & Compliance: • Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and codes (e.g., NFPA, OSHA). • Test and inspect electrical systems to identify potential hazards or code violations. Control Systems: • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and other automation systems. • Program and modify PLC systems to optimize machine performance. Documentation & Reporting: • Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, installations, and inspections. • Report any major issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly. Collaboration: • Work closely with the maintenance team, machine operators, and engineers to resolve electrical and mechanical issues. • Provide technical guidance and training to team members as needed. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred. • Journeyman Electrician license (or equivalent) required. • Certifications in industrial electrical systems or automation are a plus. Experience: • 3+ years of experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a manufacturing or paper production environment. Skills: • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, wiring diagrams, and schematics. • Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and motor control systems. • Ability to work with high-voltage equipment safely. • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is advantageous. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Work Environment • May require working in a noisy, dusty, or hot environment typical of paper manufacturing facilities. • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces. • Availability to work shifts, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.
