Essential Functions:
β’ Receives wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done.
β’ Analyzes all types of drawings and wiring diagrams to locate and install circuits and equipment to determine material or replacement needs and to select a logical approach to troubleshooting and repair problems.
β’ Plans details of working procedure for the most logical approach to the job.
β’ Considers all safety precautions and the proper isolation of circuits to cause a minimum of interference to operations.
β’ Determines necessary tools and materials.
β’ Plans and performs work requiring a thorough working knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of equipment.
β’ Locates source of trouble of any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation.
β’ Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts or replaces faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc. Reassembles, tests and adjusts equipment for safe and proper operation. Performs work on βhotβ lines as required. Replaces coils, resistors, rheostats, relays, etc.
β’ Adjusts contactors, relays, bus rigging, etc. Reconnects terminal leads, panel boards and distribution feeders.
β’ Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls and fixtures, and wires and connects all types of electrical equipment as required for new installations or replacement of facilities. Makes all required splices and connector joints. Adjusts all new equipment for proper operating characteristics.
β’ Operates forklift tractor and uses welding and burning equipment in connection with own work as required.
β’ Calibrates and maintains written log of scales as required.
β’ Performs preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and identifies any potential problems. Fills out and completes all forms associated with the maintenance program, including work orders, as required by management.
β’ Performs general laborer duties as necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes:
β’ Minimum 2 yearsβ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
β’ Troubleshoot daily electrical issues and problem solving
β’ Able to work safely with 480 volts
β’ Ability to lift 50 lbs
β’ Carry tool bag continually to work station, as needed
β’ Ability to read blueprints
β’ Demonstrated attention to detail
β’ Ability to complete all electrical functions according to code
β’ Good mechanical aptitude
β’ Must be able to continually climb ladders daily and work in tight situations
β’ Must be flexible with hours depending on projects and immediate needs
β’ Adhering to company safety protocols
β’ Dependable, strong work ethic, and team player
β’ Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully
β’ Must be able to pass an electrical aptitude test.
