Job Overview
DSSI is seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial and construction painting, with a strong understanding of various painting techniques and materials. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring a high-quality finish on a variety of products and structures. The Industrial Painter will work closely with other team members to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as necessary.
• Operate airless paint spraying equipment and other tools to apply paint evenly and efficiently.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate application of coatings.
• Follow safety protocols while handling materials and operating equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and power tools.
• Collaborate with the fabrication team to understand project specifications and requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly.
• Conduct quality inspections of finished products to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Assist in assembly tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility in job duties.
Skills
• Proficiency in industrial painting techniques, including airless paint spraying.
• Mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing or machining environments.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and materials handling practices.
• Basic math skills for measuring and calculating material requirements accurately.
• Experience with welding or auto body repair is a plus.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency in the workplace.
• Previous warehouse experience is beneficial for navigating production environments.
