Position Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified and motivatedInfection Preventionist Nurse (LVN or RN)to lead and manage our infection control program in a skilled nursing facility located in Lemon Grove, CA. This is a high-accountability role responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, protecting resident and staff health, and managing infection prevention strategies across departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in managing and directing the Nursing Services Department • Plan, develop, implement, evaluate, coordinate, and direct the infection control program in accordance with applicable regulations • Ensure facility compliance with CDC, OSHA, and local health regulations • Maintain and update infection control procedures and reference materials • Support departments in exposure risk evaluations and safety protocol implementation • Conduct facility rounds for case finding, sanitation oversight, and infection control supervision • Monitor staff compliance with universal precautions, aseptic technique, and PPE protocols • Review lab reports and advise on care planning for infection-related issues • Coordinate outbreak response and corrective actions • Prepare and maintain accurate infection logs and monthly summaries • Report communicable diseases to public health agencies • Educate staff and residents on infection prevention policies • Participate in audits, inspections, surveys, and Infection Control Committee meetings • Recommend supply needs and support budgeting related to infection prevention • Perform direct care when necessary and support nursing staff • Ensure compliance with proper sharps disposal and hazardous waste handling • Uphold resident dignity and rights, even under isolation precautions • Maintain adequate inventory of PPE and ensure accessibility for staff • Support employee health initiatives and exposure incident documentation • Provide onboarding and ongoing infection control training This list is not exhaustive; related duties may be assigned as necessary. Required Qualifications: • Active LVN or RN license in California • Minimum 1 yearof clinical experience in a SNF, hospital, or long-term care facility • Deep understanding ofCDC, OSHA, and CDPH infection control standards • Strong ability to educate, train, and hold staff accountable • Excellent documentation, communication, and audit-readiness skills Preferred (Not Required): • Prior experience in an Infection Preventionist or similar role • CIC certification or willingness to obtain • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., PointClickCare) Work Conditions: • Full-time, on-site position • May require evening, weekend, or emergency response availability • Involves interaction with residents, families, staff, and regulators • Exposure to infectious agents and clinical environments • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and assist during evacuations as needed Benefits: • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) with employer match • Paid time off (PTO) • Paid training and CEUs • DailyPay (same-day pay option) • Legal assistance and employee discounts To Apply: Apply only if you meetall minimum qualificationslisted above.
