Summary

Under guided supervision, this networking job function will be responsible for maintaining any active global network system (wired or wireless) with a strong focus on wireless, including planning, designing, evaluating, configuration, and implementation of core networking hardware including management of any subcontractors or carriers.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain all system configurations and ensure compliance with any IT architectural guidelines, security policies, and ensuring current system documentation is maintained.
• Design, install, analyze optimize, and troubleshoot enterprise wireless and wired networks in multivendor environment with a clear understanding of wireless controllers from concept to life cycle management.
• Clear understanding of 802.11 protocols, WLAN standards, Spectrum analysis, RF planning/optimization, with the ability to understand licensed or unlicensed frequency bands and interpret packet captures.
• Responsible for network designs, writing statements of work (SOW's), VLAN's, heat mapping, mesh or point-to-point solutions, cloud access while taking into account all security practices adapted by the company.
• Work with network vendors for turn up and testing of new services, infrastructure, or problem resolution on any equipment or circuit outages.
• Shared responsibility for monitoring circuit and network performance (wired or wireless), identification of circuit or component failures, plus accurate and timely reporting of issues into a centralized ticketing database.
• Must be able to work in a team environment, collaborating with other IT departments. business units, or vendors/contractors around the globe, when dealing with the testing of new services, problem/issue resolution, or hardware failures.
• Will keep abreast of emerging technologies, evaluate, or recommend new products or solutions that aligns with our global IT strategies.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

1+ years related experience and/or training

• 0 - 3 years related experience (Network Engineer I)
• 1 - 5 years related experience (Network Engineer II)
• Preferred Certifications: Juniper (JNCIA, JNCDS, JNCIP), Aruba/HP (ACMX, ACDX, ACCX, ACMP, ACDP, ACCP, ACSP, ACMA, ACCA, or ACSA), NetScout (nCP, nCA, nCE, nCM), Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE-Communications).
• Technical Skills/Proficiencies: Networking: TCP/IP, WAN, LAN, VLAN, VPN, SIP, Wireless (802.11x), MPLS, SD-WAN, BGP, QOS, UNIX, Linux.
• Supported Hardware: Juniper & HP Switches/Routers, Aruba, Juniper & Extreme wireless.
• Tools: Juniper MIST AI, Aruba (AirWave, Clearpass), Wire Shark, NetScout (nGenius, Sniffer, InfiniStream, Sflow, Netflow).
• IT Service Management: ITIL Framework, IT Service Continuity.
• Working knowledge of Windows (Server, Active Directory, and Domains), HP Blade Systems, Nutanix, Security Principals, Firewall Basics, or Cisco Certifications would be considered a plus.
• Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
