Infrastructure Specialist

Your Role and Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

• As Infrasturcture specialist you will –
• Support the DataCenter Operations (H/W commission/OS setup/middleware/application installations/Networking)
• Troubleshoot hardware and software related issues
• Engaging with the stakeholders collaborating with various teams to address the issues
• Plan of action for road block issues.
• Design plan and implement New H/W setup.
• Develop deliver and support properly engineered IT services and products to meet the needs of a business
• Service-level reporting
• Consolidation/optimization of the resources.
• Maintenance of internal compliance posture and professional standards
• Risk and contingency planning

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 3 years experience in IT Infrastructure administration on System Z (z/OS z/VM Linux on Z)
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in collaborating with others to complete complex projects
• Prior experience and a working knowledge with as many of the following subject areas as possible:
  • SMP/E for installation and maintenance of z/OS operating systems and z/OS program products
  • IBM utilities (IEBCOPY IDCAMS etc).
  • ZFS filesystems and USS environment
  • System configuration skills (sysplex program products ISPF tuning)
  • Knowledge of REXX and JCL
  • Knowledge of running guest systems in a z/VM environment
  • Networking (TCP/IP and SNA)
  • RACF Security Server
  • Crypto
  • Basic knowledge of subsystems (DB2 CICS IMS)
  • JES2/JES3
  • DFHSM and DFSMS
  • IBM hardware (z System processors DS8000 TS7700)
• Experience with SSCA – security compliance and/or system patching
• Ability to learn and apply
• Very good written and verbal communication
• Fluent in English”

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Preferred skills for a z/OS Systems programmer to support dynamic development test and customer support organizations through experience with the following elements:

• SMP/E for installation and maintenance of z/OS operating systems and z/OS program products
