Work Environment:This is a specialty pharmacy that provides IV infusion at the clinic or patient homes and other sterile compounded medications.
Working hours: 8:00am-5pm Monday- Friday. On call every other weekend.
Job Description: The pharmacist in charge supervises daily operation of the pharmacy. She/he oversees and directs warehouse operations, pharmacy inventory management, prescription compounding, dispensing process, home medical therapy management and supply management and delivery process.
Responsibilities:
• Direct pharmacy staff/nursing staff's intake, admissions, patient records, care planning, pharmacokinetic programming, monitoring, ongoing clinical assessment, billing, and coordinate patient care appointments.
• Provide pharmaceutical care to Customers, including processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders, counseling Customers regarding health care and prescription medication needs, maintaining confidential information, maintaining controlled medication, and required documentation.
• Work with the company administration to integrate quality assurance programs for pharmacy services designed to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care, pursue opportunities to improve patient care, and resolve identified problems.
• Work with staff to communicate and educate team on pharmacy-related issues.
• Monitors patient/customer satisfaction trends to identify areas for improvement, resolves client grievances in collaboration with pharmacy, nursing, management and corporate staff and makes recommendations for improvement to Key Operating Manager.
• Knowledge of the pharmacy dispensing software
• Knowledge of pharmacy packaging automation (hardware & software)
• Support for the financial performance of the pharmacy as a unit of the overall organization
• Partner with management in implementation and delivery of business growth initiatives
• Notify the company administration of potential violations of any statute, rule or court order existing within the pharmacy
• Monitor industry, regulatory and compliance industry, regulatory and compliance developments (e.g., state Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, etc.) for pending regulatory changes and partner with management to address
• Maintain a pharmacy technician training manual for the specific practice setting of which he/she is in charge
• Implement written policies and procedures to specify the duties to be performed by pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students and Interns
• Oversee training programs conducted pursuant to the training manual for all individuals employed by the pharmacy who will assist in the practice of pharmacy
• Ensure all pharmacy staff members undergo required initial and annual trainings and maintains record of trainings
• Attest to the Board or other regulatory entities in a timely manner those persons who have met the training requirements necessary for registration with the Board, as necessary
• Work with the company admin to implement policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security and disposition of drugs and devices
• Assure that all pharmacists and interns employed at the pharmacy are currently licensed and that all pharmacy technicians employed are currently registered with the board (where state law requires)
• Work with the key operating manager to respond to the board regarding any warning notice issued by the board or any other regulation authority.
• Oversee policies and procedures implemented for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of prescription information and patient health care information, and ensures that all employees of the pharmacy read, sign, and comply with the established policies and procedures
• Ensure pharmacy is in compliant with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy
• Serve as a primary source of information and responds to internal and external customer questions or clarification of information
• Perform various duties associated with narcotic room compliance to include but not limited to reporting of periodic pharmacy self-surveys for controlled substances prescription accuracy, respond to and resolve regulatory surveyor inquiries related to compliance issues, contact physician to receive hard copy of prescription and perform drug recall surveillance and reporting
• Maintain all drug records, providing for the security of the prescription department and following such other rules as relate to the practice of the profession of pharmacy.

Requirements:
• Leadership experience, minimum of 3 years
• Excellent communication skills to different audiences
• Adaptability, flexibility, and creativity
• Experience in IV sterile compounding/IV infusion is a must.
• Personality:
• Must be personable, professional, mature, and positive
Education:
• Pharm.D is a must. Plus MBA or Board Certified IV pharmacist is preferred

Pay: $48.00 - $64.00 per hour
