Job Description Summary

Faisant partie de l'ingénierie et se rapportant au Leader régional des offres techniques, l'ingénieur(e) mécanique turbine aux offres techniques est responsable des aspects de conception mécanique du produit turbine dans la préparation des offres techniques en avant-projets en lien avec la stratégie définie par l'équipe technico-commerciale. Il / elle est en charge de définir une solution technique répondant aux attentes des clients externes et internes en supportant les fonctions d'achat, d'estimation et de montage dans la préparation d'une offre optimale, tout en respectant le cadre budgétaire et l'échéancier de l'appel d'offre.

Job Description

L'ingénieur(e) turbine aux offres techniques est le leader pour tous les aspects mécaniques reliés au produit turbine de l'offre et peut compter sur le support d'une douzaine d'ingénieurs expérimentés pour du conseil professionnel et pour gérer la charge de travail. Il/Elle est responsable de proposer une solution technique gagnante pour le produit turbine dans un cadre de nouvelle centrale ou de réfection d'une centrale existante.

Le ou la titulaire du poste devra :

• Identifier les requis techniques selon les spécifications du client et communiquer l'information nécessaire aux autres fonctions de l'équipe;
• Définir et faire valider les solutions techniques de manière optimale;
• Établir les caractéristiques techniques, performances et garanties techniques;
• Documenter la stratégie, la conception technique et la validation de la solution retenue.
• Produire la documentation technique incluse dans l'offre :
• Identifier les risques techniques associés et les plans d'atténuation;
• Effectuer des visites au site afin d'obtenir l'information technique requise pour préparer l'offre;
• Participer au développement des outils de préparation des offres.
• Rencontrer les clients pour supporter techniquement les Opérations Commerciales et les Ventes
• Assurer une transition harmonieuse avec l'équipe de projet au début du contrat.

Qualifications

• Baccalauréat en génie mécanique, avec un minimum de 8 années d'expérience pertinente dans le secteur de l'énergie.
• Membre de l'Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec, détenteur d'un permis temporaire, ou éligible à devenir membre de l'OIQ à court terme;
• Expérimenté(e) en conception, entretien et réfection de machines hydrauliques et électromécaniques un atout.
• Volonté et disponibilité pour occasionnellement voyager en Amérique du Nord.

As part of engineering and reporting to the Technical Tendering Regional Leader, the turbine Technical Tendering engineer is responsible for the mechanical design aspects of the turbine product in the preparation of technical offers in preliminary projects in connection with the strategy defined by the technical-sales team. He/she is in charge of defining a technical solution meeting the expectations of external and internal customers by supporting the purchasing, estimation and assembly functions in the preparation of an optimal offer, while respecting the budgetary framework and the timetable for the call for tenders.

The Turbine Technical Tendering engineer is leading all technical aspects linked to the turbine product of the bid and is supported by a large team of experimented engineers for professional advice or load management. He/she is responsible of proposing technically winning solution for the turbine for either new or refurbished hydro powerplant.

The candidate will have to:

• Identify customer's technical requirements and communicate the relevant information of all functions of the team;
• Define and validate technical solutions;
• Define technical characteristics, performances and technical guarantees;
• Document the strategy, technical design and validation the chosen solution;
• Prepare technical documentation to include with the proposal;
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation plans;
• Travel to powerplants to gather the required data to prepare the technical proposal;
• Participate in proposal preparation tools;
• Meet client to support the Commercial Operation and Sales teams;
• Ensure seamless handover to the execution team.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 8 years of pertinent experience in the energy sector
• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec, a temporary permit or elligeable to become a member of the OIQ in the short term.
• Experience in designing, maintaining or refurbishing hydraulic and electromechanical machine is an asset;
• Willing and available to occasionally travel in North America;
