Injection Mold Lead

Position Summary: We are seeking a hands-on, highly motivatedInjection Mold Leadto join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for leading daily injection molding operations, ensuring production goals and quality standards are met, performing maintenance on JSW machines, and managing the team of secondary operators. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, takes initiative, and can work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Mold Setup & Assembly: -Assemble and disassemble molds for production runs. - Operate and maintain mold components and tooling. • Machine Maintenance: - Schedule, log, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on JSW injection molding machines. - Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate with maintenance team when needed. • Production Scheduling & Execution: -Schedule work orders efficiently across machines based on priorities. - Track and adjust machine schedules as needed to meet production targets. • Quality Control: - Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and comparators. - Ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic standards. • Team Training & Supervision: - Train and mentor secondary operators on processes, safety, and quality standards. - Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. • Inventory & Material Management: - Maintain and track material inventory for molding operations. - Ensure materials are prepared and available for scheduled production. • Mold Repair Management: - Log, track, and schedule mold repairs and preventive maintenance. - Coordinate with tool room or vendors for off-site repairs when necessary. • Equipment Operation: - Safely operate gantry cranes, forklifts, drill presses, and various hand tools. • Administrative & Communication Tasks: - Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports using basic computer skills (Excel, email, scheduling software). - Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments. Qualifications: • Proven experience in injection molding and mold setup (preferably with JSW machines). • Proficiency using measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators. • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment (forklift, crane) and hand tools. • Strong organizational and time-management skills. • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, production tracking systems). • Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: • Prior leadership or team lead experience in a manufacturing setting. • Technical or trade school background in molding or mechanical systems. • Forklift certification is a plus.
