Salary offers will be made within the posted range. Placement within the range will be determined based on your similar work experience. The Port considers work experience to be similar if the scope and level of responsibility of your prior positions match the job being offered.
Some of what you'll be doing:
As the Innovation Business Analyst, you will work to improve initiatives through data analysis, ad-hoc reporting, process improvement, documentation, troubleshooting, and technology liaison. You will assist in building business cases and develop recommendations based on data, trends, and information.
⢠You will research and study a variety of procedural, operational, and policy issues with the objective of improving the business and/or efficiencies.
⢠You will analyze business requirements, understand business needs, develop recommendations and solutions, and evaluate new approaches.
⢠You will create, manage, and build upon the existing data library of reports through usage analysis and periodic culling.
⢠You will gather data for reports, leverage data for recommendations and solutions, develop reports, and communicate information between technical entities and end users.
⢠You will investigate and remedy data quality issues and respond to user inquiries to adapt information to meet their needs.
⢠You will support the system administration of Xovis and other innovation systems to ensure information is shared and managed effectively.
⢠You will build business cases with recommendations for the most effective and efficient opportunities to explore for business needs or demands.
Who you are:
⢠Experiencedâ You have three (3) years of experience in business analysis, developing business process models, and/or building business cases.

⢠Problem Solverâ You have creative problem solving and critical thinking that allows for a variety of solutions. You can prioritize workload and adapt to business priority changes.
What else you need to know:
⢠Work Scheduleâ Your normal work schedule will be Monday â Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.
⢠Work Environment- This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Managementâs discretion.
⢠Washington State Residency Requirementâ Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
⢠Security Requirementsâ As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
