Responsibilities
β’ Assist with the collection, compilation, review, and interpretation of insurance data in residential submissions.
β’ Aggregate and analyze insurance data to identify patterns or data quality issues.
β’ Perform reasonability checks, analyze data discrepancies, provide written summaries of errors to management.
β’ Write queries, create reports and maintain organized records of analyses, findings, and correspondence.
β’ Communicate data errors to companies and offer detailed explanations as needed.
β’ Collaborate with management and companies to determine corrective actions
β’ Learn and stay up to date with the Residential Statistical Plan and Farm Statistical Plan and maintain detailed knowledge and notes on policy types and program rules.
β’ Identify opportunities to improve internal review processes and explore ways to leverage data for meaningful reporting.
β’ Develop or enhance technical skills in TICOβs residential Postgres database.
Experience
β’ Proficiency in SQL for database querying and management is essential.
β’ Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies is preferred.
β’ Experience in database design and implementation is a plus.
β’ Strong skills in analytics, including the ability to interpret complex datasets effectively.
β’ Knowledge of Tableau or similar data visualization tools is highly desirable.
β’ Previous experience in a Data Analyst role or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
β’ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Insurance Data Analyst I
β’ Performs moderately complex data analysis of insurance data with some supervision
β’ Writes basic queries or reports under general supervision
β’ Develops knowledge of the Residential Statistical Plan
β’ Employs limited independent judgment and decision making
Qualifications & Core Competencies
β’ High school diploma or equivalent
β’ Familiarity with the concepts of data quality checks and analysis
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
β’ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
β’ Technical aptitude
β’ Detailed-oriented with a commitment to accurate work product
β’ Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
β’ Proficiency with mathematical concepts and data interpretation
Physical Requirements
β’ Occasionally able to lift 20 lbs
β’ Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
β’ Communicate clearly in meetings or presentations, whether virtual or in person.
β’ Repetitive keyboarding and mouse use.
