Zions Bancorporation has an opportunity for an intern to join our Corporate Accounting - SEC Reporting and Accounting Policy department to work alongside our Corporate Assistant Controller.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience to:
- Prepare financial statements and reports as required by the company, its external auditors, the Federal Reserve, SEC, or other regulatory authorities.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts.
- Analyze peer disclosures and make recommendations to improve the Company's current disclosures.
- Research US GAAP, understand complex accounting issues, and document detailed responses to technical questions.
- Implement new accounting guidance and other changes that impact accounting.
- Ensure proper documentation of all accounting related matters and application of related controls.
- Other projects and duties as needed.
- Currently working towards a Bachelor's or Master's in accounting, finance or a related degree and some experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgets, balance sheets, income statements, etc. or other directly related experience.
- Basic knowledge of accounting practices, principles, applications, process, procedures, and analysis methods.
- Knowledge of financial analysis, budgets, balance sheets, income statements and GL's.
- Strong Excel, Word, and Power Point skills.
- Ability to balance financial information.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational, problem resolution and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good client relationship and communication skills.
- Ability to be a team player and work in a group atmosphere.
