About The Team

Our team drives the Dynamo Visual Programing Application. Dynamo is an open-source, visual programing tool, developed and maintained by Autodesk for newcomers to programming, to create automation and computational design workflows within Autodesk's Desktop ecosystem.

Position Overview

As a Software Engineering Intern, you'll be building and creating new cloud APIs in the Dynamo Visual Programing application. Today, Dynamo primarily exposes functionality within our CAD and Modeling products. You'll have the opportunity to explore extending Dynamo to interact with Autodesk Platform Services cloud APIs so that users can expand and connect their existing workflows in new and powerful ways. Technologies we use: C# .NET for Desktop and API development, React / Electron UI.

Responsibilities

  • Having a dedicated mentor who will help you navigate through Autodesk as a whole. From onboarding to your intern project, your mentor will get you ramped up and ready to make an impact - all while showing you what it means to be at Autodesk!
  • Engaging with the team to discover how the team approaches collaboration and development
  • Designing, building, testing, and releasing solutions in an open-source software, impacting our public GitHub Dynamo DS repository

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time, degree seeking program with an expected graduation date in 2024 with a focus in Computer Science or other related fields
  • Strong CS Fundamentals
  • Prior full stack software engineering experiences from internships, hackathons, or other side projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Mechanical Modeling or Architectural CAD technologies.
  • Prior experience with computational design in Grasshopper, Dynamo, or Processing
  • Understanding of computer graphics

About the US Intern Program

The 2023 U.S. program runs for 12 weeks (May 22 - August 11 or June 12 - September 1). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March. Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting annualized base salary between $41,000 and $81,400. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
