About the Department
The Internal Audit (IA) organization is responsible for delivering high-quality objective and independent assurance over the Company's key business risks to the Audit Committee and Management in a cost effective way and consistent with Professional Standards. Reflecting the Company's core value of continuous improvement, the function is in the process of moving toward wider coverage of operational risks, exploring more efficient audit approaches and industry best practices where appropriate. Our mission is to drive meaningful change in the control environment and risk management capabilities by delivering impactful and solution-oriented engagement and partnership.
About the Role
As an intern on the Internal Audit (IA) team, you will support the IA team in executing all aspects of Cloudflare's Operational Audits, as well as testing of internal controls (SOX), as deemed necessary.
What you'll do

  • Assist in executing the Internal Audit plan under the supervision of an IA Manager. This includes operational audit planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, issues validation, and reporting.
  • Execute operational audits in accordance with department and professional standards, and complete assignments timely in an efficient manner.
  • Help design testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives.
  • Identify and document operational audit processes, risks, and controls.
  • Prepare audit work papers and reports with direct supervision.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and business owners.
  • Execute test of design and operating effectiveness for internal controls (SOX), as deemed necessary.
  • Document all Internal Audit work in the AuditBoard tool.
  • Report to an IA Manager.
  • Be assigned a mentor to guide you through the internship and help with career goals.
  • Make friends across the company through our Buddy Program, Employee Resource Group (ERG) programs, and Activity Groups (Cat or dog lovers, we've got communities for you! @Catflare @Doggos).
  • Present your project to the entire company at the end of the internship.
  • Get direct access to our executives and leadership team, including our co-founders.
