Investment Lead ($175-225k)

Sequel is a seed-stage company founded and backed by experienced serial entrepreneurs with several successful exits.

A world-class team is looking for an Investment Lead to help us continue to build world-class dealflow and make exceptional quality investments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Venture Capital with a proven track record of successful investments and the ability to bring in dealflow from day 1, as well as a visionary mindset for identifying new ways of managing deal flow and VC partners using data and AI.

This role has significant career upside, with the possibility in time to oversee our entire Investment function.

Title: Investment Lead

Compensation: $175-225k dependent on experience + meaningful equity

Responsibilities include:

1. Traditional responsibilities of a Lead Investment Manager which include:

• Sourcing: bring in dealflow and key relationships with leading US VCs on day 1.
• Leading our investment process: bring in best in class practices and collaborate closely with our Operations lead to support an efficient investment process.
• Growing and nurturing strong relationships in the US+UK VC venture ecosystem. This will also include organizing regular VC events.

2. Setting the vision for VC 2.0 beyond traditional VC.

Whether it's automating sourcing using AI or finding novel ways to engage with our partners at scale, we expect our Investment Lead to foster a culture of innovation that is technology and data driven, and implement those ideas to directly impact the way we work and achieve our goals. To support this ambition, Sequel has hired a dedicated senior data scientist and resources from our existing engineering team will also be made available.

3. As a senior member of the Sequel team, you will lead more junior team members and have a key role to play in upholding Sequel's values and behaviors. You will promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

• Must have a current right to work in the US and not require sponsorship

• A brilliant communicator with an ability to drive exceptional results in others around you
• Adaptable and willing to roll up your sleeves and work on time consuming and repetitive processes understanding we are an early stage startup
• You have an existing passion for or an interest in learning more about the worlds of professional sport
• Knowledge of startup investment processes, terms and legal documentation
