Ironworkers/Steel workers

Proman Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Ironworkers for immediate work on prevailing wage, ground-up commercial projects in the Austin area! These are elevated structural steel positions with competitive pay at current prevailing wage rates. Responsibilities • Studying and analyzing blueprints, diagrams, schematics and work orders to understand what must be completed. • Measure, fabricate, cut, weld and shape steel parts such as girders, columns and frames using equipment including shears, welding tools and torches. • Erect, connect, and secure structural steel for new commercial buildings. • Perform deck welding and sheet-metal decking installation (burn rods, throw deck, bridging). • Work entirely at elevation with proper fall protection. • Direct crane operators and safely hoist/position steel components. • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders. Welding Requirements • 3G & 4G vertical/overhead deck welders. • Must be certified in 3G/4G positions and qualified for sheet-metal/decking installation. Requirements • 5–6 years of commercial structural steel experience preferred; other strong experience considered. • Provide own hand and power tools including welding stinger, wrenches, harness & lanyards. • OSHA 10 or higher strongly preferred.
