Job Description
• Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the assembly and installation of structural steel, reinforcing steel, and other metal components in various construction settings. This role requires a strong understanding of construction site protocols, safety standards, and the ability to read and interpret schematics. The Ironworker will work collaboratively with other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
Duties
• Assemble and erect steel structures, including beams, columns, and trusses.
• Use hand tools and power tools effectively to cut, shape, and weld metal components.
• Operate cranes and other machinery for lifting heavy materials.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards throughout all tasks.
• Perform welding using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) techniques as needed.
• Utilize measuring instruments like micrometers to ensure precision in fabrication.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to execute project specifications accurately.
• Conduct inspections of completed work to maintain quality control.
• Collaborate with team members on construction sites to coordinate tasks efficiently.
• Must have own tools like safety harness, beamer, safety cable, sleeve bar, iron worker beater, chipping hammer, wire brush, 9/16 socket & ratchet, 2-visc grip clamp,30" fatmax tape, gloves, glasses, striker, soapstone holder, spud crescent, bull pin , torpedo level, welding hood helmet, square, 2-bags iron worker, welding rods holder, safety vest or orange/yellow shirts, tools bag.
Experience
• 2 years' experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with operating press brake machines and other fabrication equipment is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of construction codes and standards relevant to ironwork.
• Experience in machining processes is a plus.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions while adhering to safety protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
• Equipment training certification, OSHA 10 class, rigging certification, welding certification
