Position:IT Project Manager Employment:Permanent Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 Office Location: San Mateo, CA Start: ASAP Working Style: Full Remote (must be available to commute to the client when required.) Job Description An IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering information technology projects that align with company objectives. This role requires not only technical expertise and leadership but also the ability to document and share knowledge across the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in project management practices. The role also includes leading the development and implementation of internal project management standards, such as templates, processes, and governance models, to strengthen the organization’s overall project delivery capability. Responsibilities • Create and manage project plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking, ensuring alignment with business goals • Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to define requirements, manage project scope, and drive issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle • Lead the project team in design and development tasks, providing direction and support as needed • Deliver and oversee the implementation of technology solutions, ensuring quality and timely execution • Manage risks and optimize overall project portfolio performance • Contribute to the preparation and oversight of key documents related to requirements definition and upstream project activities, or provide clear direction to ensure their accurate and timely completion • Establish and maintain project documentation—including planning documents, reports, and post-project reviews—while driving the institutionalization of project knowledge and best practices • Design and implement internal project management standards (templates, processes, tools usage guidelines), and lead knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices across project teams and departments Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Operations Management, IT Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field • At least five years of experience in IT project management • Experience in knowledge management or related certifications is a plus • PMP and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner certifications are preferred. If not held, candidates are expected to obtain CAPM (PMI) or PRINCE2 Foundation-level certification after joining the company • ITIL 4 Foundation certification is preferred. If not held, candidates are encouraged to obtain it after joining (certification support is available) • Experience in standardizing or improving project management practices and providing internal training or enablement is highly valued • Proven ability to apply project management best practices such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, or Agile methodologies, or demonstrated willingness and ability to develop such skills • Ability to contribute to the maturity of project management practices through documentation and knowledge sharing • Proficiency in project management tools such as ZOHO Projects, Jira, or equivalent • Excellent leadership, communication, and facilitation skills • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Work Environment and Travel Requirements Remote work is allowed; however, the candidate must be available to commute to the office when required. Candidates should be willing and able to travel for business purposes, with travel requirements potentially reaching up to 10% of the working time per month.
