Janitor

JOB SUMMARY The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness across various areas of the Plant and Warehouse facilities, including offices, production areas, warehouses areas, and exterior spaces. This role involves cleaning, sanitizing, managing cleaning supplies, and adhering to company safety and food safety protocols. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Ensures thorough housekeeping in office areas, including dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal. 2. Maintains cleanliness in production areas by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to meet food safety standards. 3. Keeps the warehouse tidy by organizing materials, sweeping and mopping floors, and trash removal for assigned areas. 4. Maintains exterior areas such as the parking lot and patio, ensuring they are free of debris and hazards. 5. Cleans and sanitizes assigned work areas, including restrooms and break rooms, to prevent contamination. 6. Monitors and manages the inventory of cleaning supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and orders are placed as needed. 7. Adheres to company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety protocols to ensure a compliant and safe working environment. 8. Follows all food safety principles and legal requirements to prevent contamination and ensure product safety. 9. Utilizes and maintains Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) as required to perform job duties safely. 10. Reports to the manager on duty and follows emergency procedures in the event of an emergency, such as a fire, flood, or injury. 11. Keeps the work area organized and clean, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored. 12. Additional duties, assist Maintenance department with entry level tasks as needed. JOB QUALIFICATIONS A. High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. B. Prior experience working as a janitor, or similar role, in a fast-paced production or food manufacturing environment is preferred. C. The ability to multi-task and deal with uncertainty, make good decisions, handle pressure, provide follow- through and attention to detail. D. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles is preferred.. E. Flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed. F. Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a positive work ethic. G. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS a. Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. b. Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds. c. Comfortable bending, stooping, reaching, and kneeling to clean various surfaces and areas. d. Possesses manual dexterity and coordination for handling cleaning supplies and equipment safely. e. Capable of following safety procedures and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. f. Agility to maneuver in confined spaces and navigate around obstacles safely. g. Endurance to work in a fast-paced environment and withstand fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
