Janitor

JOB SUMMARY: The position of Janitor requires the employee to be knowledgeable and perform all cleaning activities within the office building. The Janitor performs the dusting and cleaning of furniture, telephones, picture frames and walls. The Janitor will be responsible for the overall complete cleanliness of assigned areas while following safety guidelines. The Janitor performs all vacuuming activities including all carpeted areas and hard to reach places. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Janitor responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Dust all furniture and high places (vents) • Responsible for remove all trash throughout offices and transporting to dumpster or compactor. • Vacuum carpets and upholstered chairs. • Spot clean carpets and walls. • Dust mop sweep or vacuum designated areas. • Scrub and clean restrooms toilets, urinals, sinks, spot clean mirrors, and the floors. • Maintain inventory and keep supplies restock. • He/she transports the bags in the trash brut. • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and keep them stocked. • Cleans and disinfects. • Other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Able to communicate at a functional level with his/her direct supervisor. • Able to follow directions and instructions. • Knowledgeable in cleaning products and equipment. • Requires knowledgeable skills in treatment and maintenance of carpets and floor care. • Use cleaning materials and equipment according to safety guidelines.
