Janitor

Position Summary: As a Facilities Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment within the facility. This role will ensure that both the warehouse and offices meet high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety while supporting the operational team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive in ensuring a sanitary environment that promotes productivity and safety. Key Responsibilities: • Sweep, mop, and clean warehouse floors regularly to ensure a safe, clean, and clutter-free environment. • Wipe down surfaces, including shelves, racks, and loading areas, to remove dirt, dust, and debris. • Clean windows, doors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other common areas within the warehouse. • Dispose of trash and recycling in a timely manner, ensuring the proper waste segregation. • Sanitize frequently used spaces to reduce the risk of contamination. • Maintain the inventory and organization of all cleaning supplies and sanitation area. • Follow Safe Life Defense’s safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary. • Monitor and maintain proper sanitation procedures to meet local health and safety regulations. • Assist in identifying potential safety hazards (spills, blockages) and promptly report them to management. • Ensure that cleaning supplies and materials are stocked and stored properly. • Report any maintenance needs or issues related to cleaning equipment or warehouse areas to management. • Collaborate with Team Leaders to order cleaning supplies when needed. • Work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and quick response to sanitation needs. • Cooperate with team members during inventory audits, deliveries, and special cleaning projects. Qualifications and Requirements: • Prior experience in warehouse cleaning, custodial, or janitorial work preferred, but not required. • Experience with the use of industrial cleaning equipment is a plus. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. • Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual labor for extended periods. • Ability to bend, twist, and reach in different positions to clean various surfaces. • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary. Working Conditions: • This position is based in a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to dust, noise, and fluctuating temperatures. • PPE such as gloves and masks will be provided and must be worn when appropriate.
