Janitor

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties and an understanding of effective cleaning techniques. Responsibilities • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas. • Execute floor care activities such as buffing and polishing to ensure surfaces are well-maintained. • Conduct industrial cleaning tasks in designated areas, adhering to safety protocols and standards. • Assist with residential painting as needed, ensuring quality finishes and attention to detail. • Carry out facilities maintenance tasks to support the overall upkeep of the premises. • Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts effectively, promoting sustainability within the facility. • Respond promptly to cleaning requests from staff or management, demonstrating flexibility in task assignments. • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or equipment needs to management. Skills • Strong knowledge of custodial practices and techniques, including commercial cleaning methods. • Proficiency in floor care procedures and equipment operation for buffing and maintenance. • Experience in industrial cleaning environments is a plus. • Ability to perform basic facilities maintenance tasks effectively. • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently while completing tasks. • A proactive attitude towards maintaining a clean and safe environment for all building occupants.
