Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Schedule: Flexible, including evenings or weekends as needed
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Janitor/Maintenance Technician to maintain cleanliness and safety across our Group Homes, Day Treatment for Adults (DTA), Day Treatment and Training (DTT), and Group Home locations. This role ensures facilities are clean, safe, stocked, and well-maintained, supporting a healthy and dignified environment for all individuals served.
Key Responsibilities:
Janitorial Duties:
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish all floors to maintain a clean, shiny appearance.
• Clean baseboards, windows, window sills, and wall corners to remove dust and grime.
• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms daily: toilets, sinks, mirrors, dispensers.
• Ensure paper towel and toilet paper dispensers are always stocked and operational.
• Empty all trash cans regularly, replace liners, and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas including sinks, counters, microwaves, and refrigerators.
• Maintain cleanliness in all common areas, bedrooms, classrooms, and therapy rooms.
Maintenance Duties:
• Perform basic plumbing tasks (unclogging toilets, fixing minor leaks, etc.).
• Replace light bulbs, batteries in smoke detectors, air filters, and HVAC maintenance checks.
• Repair minor drywall damage and patch holes, repainting walls to maintain consistent color and finish.
• Install and repair items like paper towel holders, soap dispensers, furniture, shelving, and light fixtures.
• Maintain exterior areas: sweep entryways, manage landscaping issues (weeds/trash), and clear snow (if applicable).
• Report major repair needs (electrical, HVAC, roof leaks, etc.) to management and coordinate vendor access if needed.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify safety or maintenance issues.
Additional Duties in Group Home & DTA/DTT Settings:
• Assist with moving and assembling furniture or adaptive equipment.
• Help set up or break down areas for events or programmatic activities.
• Ensure all paints and tools are stored securely and labeled appropriately.
• Maintain janitorial and maintenance supply inventory; notify supervisor when restocking is needed.
• Monitor the facility for any hazards and report or resolve them immediately (e.g., slippery floors, broken handrails).
• Support pest control coordination when needed.
• Maintain safety signage, MSDS sheets, and OSHA compliance for cleaning agents.
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of janitorial and/or maintenance experience, preferably in a residential or clinical setting.
• Basic knowledge of repair tools, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting techniques.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., stand/walk for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for multi-site support.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a DDD, healthcare, or group home setting.
• Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and facility safety protocols.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Pay: $14.70 - $18.58 per hour
