Java Programmer - hybrid / remote

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Java Programmer to assess every aspect related to Secure Software Development Life Cycle to solidify delivery of quality developments. The ideal candidate will work with Program Management and third-party Developers to design java applications and programs, testing Java software and applying fixes to any technical issues to java applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with third party development teams offshore to review, analyze, and modify existing system integrations, including coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and installing programs to a production environment.
• Collaborate with functional and technical SMEs to understand the current processes/programs and determine how best streamline the development and deployment processes.
• Interpret functional requirements, develop technical specifications from functional requirements, design and code applications.
• Plan, develop, test, and document complex application programs.
• Ensure products, applications, documents, and systems meet the established quality standards and requirements.
• Ability to work as part of an agile or waterfall team, meeting deadlines and working with users on projects.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

Technical Experience and Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years of experience including 2+ years of Java EE, software development life cycle and development tools
• Hands on experience in Spring, Mybatis, APIs (Restful JSON services), JSF, Opensymphony quartz etc.
• Hands on experience in handling Spring Transactions.
• Integration experience with various technologies (web services, XML, Kafka, etc.).
• Familiar with Wildfly server.
• Expert knowledge of the software build, configuration and release process supporting the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Jira, Checkmarx, Azure DevOps is a plus
• Experience in the health care industry related to claims data.
• Understands relational databases in Health Care applications and the interactions between applications.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with both technical and non-technical staff.
• Ability to show initiative in ambiguous circumstances and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to provide resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems.
• Must have effective interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication skills, professional level of diction and grammar, ability to organize
• own work schedule, manage complex projects, and ensure that assigned tasks are completed by specified deadlines.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and provide effective leadership to other programmer analysts.
• Flexibility to take on multiple responsibilities and tasks.
• Flexibility in work schedule required to meet needs and to accommodate various meeting schedules.
• Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas
• The candidate will have strong leadership skills to assist the team with the implementation of Dev/Ops processes.
• This resource will work as part of a cross-functional team, which includes the quality assurance and build engineers, to ensure success across the organization

May require one or more of the following:

• Familiar with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), APIs (Restful JSON services), etc.
• Integration experience with various technologies (web services, XML, ESB, etc.).
• Familiar with IBM WebSphere ESB and/or Process Server.
• Expert knowledge of the software build, configuration and release process supporting the software development lifecycle.
• Must have exceptional analysis, judgment, project management skills.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with both technical and non-technical staff.
• Ability to show initiative in ambiguous circumstances and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to provide resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems.
• Understands relational databases, financial applications and the interactions between applications.
• Must have effective interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication skills, professional level of diction and grammar, ability to organize own work schedule, manage complex projects, and ensure that assigned tasks are completed by specified deadlines.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and provide effective leadership to other programmer analysts.
• Flexibility to take on multiple responsibilities and tasks.
• Flexibility in work schedule required to meet needs and to accommodate various meeting schedules. This may require work outside the normal Monday-Friday/9-5 schedule.
• Experience with Jira and Azure DevOps is a plus
• Experience in the health care industry related to claims data

A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.

Location: This position is located at the Enterprise Technology Center in Midvale, UT with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 days remote within the Salt Lake area) or can be located 100% remote within the United States.

Salary range - depends on experience: $100,000 - $120,000
