About the Role: Flasher Equipment Co. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Job Cost Accountant to support our project-driven operations, with a focus on TxDOT-governed jobs. This position plays a key role in tracking project financials, preparing WIP reports, and ensuring cost accuracy and compliance across the board. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, accounting, and executive leadership to maintain visibility into the financial health of active and completed projects. Key Responsibilities: Job Costing & Analysis • Maintain detailed job cost records for active and completed projects • Track actual vs. budgeted costs and analyze variances • Allocate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs to the correct jobs WIP Reporting • Prepare and maintain monthly Work in Progress (WIP) reports • Partner with PMs and leadership to update job status and revenue recognition • Post revenue and cost entries in accordance with GAAP and company policy Compliance & Documentation • Ensure all cost tracking complies with TxDOT standards and contracts • Support audits with timely, organized cost documentation Project Coordination • Assist PMs with cost performance analysis and forecasting • Participate in job reviews and suggest process improvements Accounting Support • Contribute to month-end and year-end close • Reconcile job cost subledger to the general ledger Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience in construction, job cost accounting, or project finance • Familiarity with TxDOT project requirements strongly preferred • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Vista, Procore, or similar systems a plus • Strong understanding of WIP, GAAP, and revenue recognition principles • Detail-driven, collaborative, and highly organized Compensation: The salary range for this position is $78,000 – $96,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and alignment with the company’s needs.
