The Drywall Finisher/Taper, is responsible for finishing drywall panels to create smooth surfaces in preparation for painting or texturing. This role involves applying joint compound, embedding tape, patching holes, sanding, and inspecting surfaces for quality. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial construction environments and takes pride in delivering high-quality finishes.

Key Responsibilities:
•
Apply joint compound (mud) to seams between drywall panels.
•
Embed joint tape into compound and smooth over seams and corners.
•
Apply successive coats of compound and sand between applications to achieve a smooth finish.
•
Patch holes, imperfections, and cracks in walls and ceilings.
•
Inspect finished surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards.
•
Work efficiently to meet project deadlines and maintain productivity.
•
Protect surrounding areas and maintain a clean worksite.
•
Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE on the jobsite.
•
Communicate with foremen, drywall hangers, and other trades to coordinate workflow.
Qualifications:
•
Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a drywall finisher or taper in commercial/residential construction.
•
Skilled in hand and mechanical finishing tools (e.g., knives, hawks, taping machines).
•
Ability to achieve smooth, paint-ready surfaces.
•
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
•
Ability to read basic blueprints and follow instructions.
•
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
•
OSHA 10 certification preferred.
