Journeyman Electrician

Job Brief: The Journeyman Electrician will provide on-site installation, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs for a customer’s electrical products and equipment. Duties & Responsibilities: • Completes QA/QC redlines for as-built construction drawings. • Reads and interprets schematics and drawings related to electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications. • Repairs and adjusts system components (sensors, transmitters, programmable logic controllers, etc.); removes and replaces defective parts. • Pulls wire through conduits, holes, and splice, join, and/or connect wire to form circuits. • Tests circuits to ensure integrity and safety. • Completes daily field work orders and maintains hours worked and equipment used. • Completes inventory transfers and provides monthly warehouse inventory reports. • Senior Journeyman will complete on the job training documents for Junior Technicians. • Mentors/trains electrical apprentices. • Provides on-call support as required. • Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies. • Other duties as required. Required Skills/Qualifications: • Journeyman or interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in electrical. • Technical training or experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset. • Experience using pressure and/or electrical test equipment to troubleshoot systems. • Ability to read, interpret, and understand piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) drawings. • Ability to work long hours and participate in on-call schedule as required. • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and use an ERP system, IFS w/ Aurena Tech Portal preferred. • Standard First Aid/CPR with AED, H2S Alive, CSO, CSTS. • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles). • Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position. • Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech’s standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years).
