Journeyman Electrician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial electrical work, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role requires expertise in handling various electrical systems, including high and low voltage applications The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations and repairs meet industry standards and comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Responsibilities • Install and repair electrical systems in commercial setting generally in the Right of Way through out the Houston Market to Power Telecommunications equipment. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout of electrical systems. • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for installation and repair tasks. • Troubleshoot electrical issues using ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and NEC standards during all work activities. • Collaborate with construction teams on connection of power to newly erected telecommunications poles. • Provide maintenance person services as needed for minor repairs or adjustments. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly. Requirements • Proven experience as an electrician in both industrial and commercial settings. • Familiarity with low voltage systems, high voltage systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters. • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations. • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. • Experience in construction site environments with knowledge of renovation practices is preferred. • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed. • Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team setting. • A valid electrician’s license or certification is required.
