Journeyman Electrician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, including Residential, commercial and industrial environments. This role will be required to handle service calls on a daily basis with the assistance of an apprentice. When service calls aren't pending you will be working on residential projects and install projects. You will have an apprentice electrician with you at most times to help with day to day duties. You will be given a van to drive and maintain. Apprentice will need to meet you most days or be picked up in applicable. Duties • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial & residential settings. • Conduct renovations of existing electrical installations to improve efficiency and safety. • Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively. • Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of electrical systems. Some and most of these blueprints are hand drawn. • Collaborate with other tradespeople, including those skilled in frame carpentry, to complete projects efficiently. • Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes and regulations. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized van. Skills • Proficiency in voltage systems and applications. • Strong understanding of commercial & residential electrician practices and standards. • Experience with industrial electrician tasks, including installation and maintenance of complex systems. • Ability to read blueprints accurately for effective project execution. • Familiarity with using power tools safely and effectively. • Competence in troubleshooting using voltmeters and ohmmeters for accurate diagnostics. • Experience in building renovations related to electrical installations is a plus.
