Position Summary:
We are hiring a Journeyman Industrial Electrician to perform field installations, service work, and upgrades in a variety of industrial facilities. This is a strictly industrial roleβno commercial work. You will troubleshoot and install complex electrical systems, evaluate existing motor controls, and retrofit modern equipment such as variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot three-phase motor control panels and relay logic systems at water/wastewater sites, rock quarries, and cement plants
Diagnose and repair VFDs and their associated control wiring, including both analog and digital signals
Retrofit existing motor starters and soft starters with new VFDs, including load evaluation and control scheme redesign
Design and quote custom VFD solutions based on site evaluations of electrical power and control circuits
Install rigid conduit (GRC, IMC) both underground and overhead in rugged outdoor industrial environments
Size and install new electrical services, coordinate with utility companies, and ensure code compliance
Read and interpret industrial electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Lead and mentor apprentice electricians on job sites to ensure safe, high-quality work
Required Qualifications:
Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License
Minimum of 3 years of industrial-only electrical experience
Proficient with three-phase motor controls, relay logic, and pump control panels
Hands-on experience with VFD troubleshooting and retrofitting
Skilled in installing and bending rigid conduit in tough field conditions
Knowledge of NEC code and industrial safety procedures
Strong leadership skills and ability to supervise apprentices
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred Experience:
Water/wastewater facility electrical systems
Rock quarry or cement plant electrical work
Control systems using floats, submersible transducers, and analog signals
