Job Description
Chabert Plumbing is hiring a skilledJourneyman Plumberfor commercial construction projects across Central Texas. This role is ideal for a licensed journeyman with strong technical expertise who’s ready to take on added responsibility—helping lead crews, coordinating with site supervisors, and ensuring work stays aligned with project goals. You’ll work closely with a superintendent while playing a key role in project execution and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Install and test commercial plumbing systems per code and specifications.
• Assist in leading plumbing crews on commercial construction sites
• Operate machinery such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers for plumbing installations.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans to execute tasks accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure operational safety.
• Assist in coordinating daily workflow, delegating tasks, and supporting apprentices.
• Communicate job progress and issues to the foreman or project manager.
• Help ensure materials are on-site and organized for daily operations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
Qualifications
• Experience:5+ years in commercial plumbing. Some leadership experience preferred (e.g., leading a small crew or mentoring apprentices).
• Machine Operation: Proven experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, loaders, trenchers, skid steers, lifts). Valid operator certification preferred.
• Licensing: Valid journeyman plumbing license required.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and installation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in maintaining safety standards and protocols.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Other: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Compensation & Benefits
• Hourly Pay: $30–$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
