Job Title:Journeyman Plumber — New Construction (Med Gas Certified)

Location:Greater Phoenix & statewide project travel, as needed
Role Summary
Bleuwave is seeking a Journeyman Plumber withmedical gas installationexperience / Certified to perform layout, rough-in, top-out, trim, and start-up on ground-up and TI projects (healthcare, labs, commercial). The role owns quality, schedule, and safety for assigned work and mentors apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan & Layout
• Interpret plans, specs, submittals, and shop drawings to lay out DWV, domestic water, natural gas, condensate, storm, andmedical gassystems.
• Participate in coordination/pull-planning and field routing to avoid clashes; provide redlines for as-builts.
• Installations
• Execute rough-in, top-out, and final trim to code and project QA/QC standards.
• Medical Gas (NFPA 99):Install copper tube and fittings with required cleanliness; nitrogen purge while brazing; cap/plug open ends; maintain cleanliness controls; perform initial pressure/vacuum tests; coordinate third-party verification.
• Quality & Documentation
• Maintainbrazer continuity logs, heat logs, valve/lot traceability, and pressure test records.
• Complete daily reports, timesheets, and field tickets; assist with material takeoffs and prefabrication requests.
• Safety
• Lead JHAs/Pre-Task Plans; comply with hot-work permits, LOTO, confined space, trenching, and fall protection.
• Keep work areas organized; ensure apprentices follow safe work practices.
• Coordination
• Interface with GC, inspectors, verifiers, and other trades; support startup and punch-list closeout.
• Train and mentor apprentices; uphold workmanship standards.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience:5+ years commercial/new-construction plumbing; healthcare or lab projects preferred.
• Med Gas:Current ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Systems Installercertificationandcurrent braze qualification with documented continuity (per NFPA 99).
• Technical:Proficient reading blueprints/isometrics; measuring/layout; pressure testing; fixture setting; hangers/supports; soldering/brazing.
• Compliance:Valid driver’s license; ability to pass site-specific background/drug requirements for healthcare facilities.
• Safety:OSHA-10 (required) / OSHA-30 (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
• Trimble/NAVIS/Procore (or similar) familiarity; prefabrication experience.
• Backflow assembly knowledge; natural gas piping; hydronic experience.
• NCCER credentials or equivalent.
Physical & Work Conditions
• Lift/push/pull up to 75 lbs; climb ladders/scaffolds; work at heights, in mechanical rooms, and outdoors; occasional overtime/weekend work to meet milestones.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
• Rework < 1% of installed value; pass rate on med-gas verifications ≥ 98%.
• Schedule adherence on assigned WBS tasks ≥ 95%.
• Zero recordable incidents; timely, accurate documentation (daily reports, test logs).
