Jr TD – Digital Pipeline

General Summary 
The Junior Technical Director – Digital Pipeline will work closely with Sr. Engineers and Technical Directors to design, develop, and deploy in-house software tools and applications to solve production issues and support production, and our software engineering team. This position is for an entry level technical director with an interest in visual effects pipeline engineering and tool development. 

Job Functions 

• Work with other members of the Digital Pipeline team to resolve tasks related to application and workflow design, development, deployment, and updates. 
• Debug, diagnose and resolve production issues encountered by the digital artists during the execution of their jobs. 
• Work with non-technical end users in production departments to help define requirements for new tools and techniques and develop prototypes for systems that solve production problems. 
• Work with Sr. Engineers and Technical Directors to extend existing tools, fix bugs and develop new features to resolve production needs. 
• Follow Production Technology’s processes and procedures of the software development life cycle, build and release system, and code and testing standards.
• Participate in Agile sprint activities such as user story clarification and refinement, ticket / board grooming, story-pointing, launches and stand-ups and reviews.
• Support users on Linux and OSX.
• Support applications through documentation, training, and handling questions. 
  

Qualifications 

• Experience with one or more DCCs used in production, such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke, or Unreal. 
• Experience with the python and the python standard library, as well as common frameworks, such as pyside2 and requests. 
• Experience with one or more additional languages, such as C++, C, Rust, JavaScript, and/or Go a plus. 
• Prior experience as an intern or a similar technical role in a professional software engineering environment a plus.
