The JPL Data Analytics department is responsible for collecting, researching, and analyzing internal and external data to provide the company with key metrics on performance, demand forecasts from the part level to the whole aircraft, as well as analytical tools that support business decisions. The Junior Data Analyst will develop new data products and methodologies, while maintaining existing ones. Candidates should have strong analytical abilities and experience developing data-driven metrics. Working knowledge of the aviation industry is an advantage.

The Junior Data Analyst will report to the Lead Data Analyst and will work in the Chicago headquarters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the JPL Team with day-to-day reporting needs.
• Assist the Lead Data Analyst on large-scale reporting needs.
• Develop and maintain operation-level reports to help the team make business decisions.
• Track key metrics to monitor and improve performance.
• Run recurrent reports to support ongoing needs (monthly/quarterly reports).
• Suggest ways to improve current analytics methods and reports.
• Stay up to date on methods and software through training.
• Provide ideas for continuous improvement.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Desired Credentials:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or relevant field.
• Some experience with Data Analytics in a professional environment.
• Needs to have an interest for the Aviation Industry.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to learn fast and adapt to new situations.
• Knowledge of Excel’s advanced functionalities.
• Some dashboard development experience (Power BI/Tableau).
• Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
• Understanding of databases and how to retrieve data.
• Highly organized and able to thrive in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely.
• Ability to function independently.
