Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their accounting skills in a supportive environment. The Junior Staff Accountant will assist in various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures while contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Conduct journal entries and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes to aid financial planning.
• Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws, including SOX and securities law.
• Contribute to financial report writing and interpretation for management review.
• Engage in cash flow analysis, bank reconciliation, and auditing activities.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Netsuite or PeopleSoft for various accounting tasks.
• Provide support in payroll processing and tax experience as needed.
• Collaborate with team members on special projects related to corporate finance, private equity, or governmental accounting.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
• Familiarity with financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping and accrual accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Knowledge of financial management principles and practices is a plus.
• Experience with non-profit accounting or technical accounting is beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $51,000.00 - $69,000.00 per year
