Laborer Duties: LABORER -Safely perform tasks of a general nature within the marine and general industries as directed by supervisory and senior personnel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Laborer performs physical duties as assigned, maintains safety standards, moves materials and equipment, assists skilled workers, and works in confined spaces. • Willingness to learn on-the-job skills and techniques • Team player • Comprehends English minimally QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS-To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. ·EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -No prior experience or training is required. Preferred ·LANGUAGE SKILLS -Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Bi-lingual preferred 70%. ·MATH SKILLS -Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance. ·REASONING ABILITY -Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both written and verbal instructions. ·OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES -Ability to multi-task, communicate effectively, and be detail oriented. ·PHYSICAL DEMANDS -The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
