Latin Teacher Responsibilities: • Teach several sections of Latin at middle or upper school level. • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve course curriculum as needed. • Partner with colleagues to establish efficient grading and assessment practices. • Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students. • Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class. • Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations. • Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable. • Providing suggestions for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling students. • Serve as an advisor for students ensuring student success. LatinTeacher Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Latin, or Classics required. Master's degree preferred. • Proven written and verbal proficiency in Latin. • 2-3 years of previous teaching experience. • No teaching license or credential is required. • Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills. • Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities. Additional Desired Qualities: • Willingness to work with middle or high school students. • Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
