All Great Hearts students study Latin from 6th through 8th grade, and several continue in the classics track in high school, with advanced Latin and Ancient Greek (others study a modern language for four years of high school). Many academies offer Latin at K-5 as well. • Latin provides an essential foundation for our academies’ focus on the Western tradition through its incorporation of history and culture. • Rigorous and detailed Latin lessons will develop students that can translate texts from the original Latin to English through Socratic discussion Requirements for teaching: • Bachelor’s or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role • Certification is not required for general education • All majors are welcome Work Authorization - US work authorization is required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.
