Job Description
Position Overview:
The Tax Accountant & Bookkeeping Manager will be responsible for handling all aspects of tax preparation and planning for individual and business clients, while also overseeing the day-to-day bookkeeping operations of the office. This dual-role position requires a professional with strong tax expertise and proficiency in bookkeeping to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with tax laws.
Responsibilities:
Tax Accounting:
β’ Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.
β’ Develop tax planning strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.
β’ Research and stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide informed guidance to clients.
β’ Conduct tax audits, resolve disputes with tax authorities, and manage tax-related inquiries.
β’ Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
β’ Advise clients on tax-efficient investments and retirement planning.
Bookkeeping Management:
β’ Oversee the office's bookkeeping functions, including maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations.
β’ Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing.
β’ Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements to provide a clear picture of the company's financial health.
β’ Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting to support business operations and decision-making.
β’ Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal controls.
β’ Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and prepare necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
β’ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation and bookkeeping.
β’ Strong knowledge of tax laws, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
β’ Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
β’ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
β’ Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
