Job Summary

A Lead - Biorepository is responsible for the inventory, processing, maintenance, and transactions of research material, which may include, but is not limited to specimens, test articles, temperature-critical items, paper records, and/or magnetic media. The Lead - Biorepository performs a variety of biorepository functions and should develop a sense of responsibility toward their duties to include the following:

The Opportunity

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor US Clinical Operations and will work closely with the Avantor's Clinical Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

What we're looking for

• Education: College Degree or at least 1 year's relevant work experience.
• Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GLP regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of archiving procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of archiving tools, equipment, and instruments.
  • Ability to balance and coordinate workload for multiple projects.
  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization (internally and externally).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of rules of effective business English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and database software.
  • Superior role model leadership behaviors - ability to lead and motivate others while actively displaying Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.

The Lead - Biorepository performs a variety of biorepository functions and should develop a sense of responsibility toward their duties to include the following:

Completion of the orientation program with: An understanding of our work and how it must be completed in compliance with applicable US and OECD regulations and our Standard Operating Procedures An understanding of Chemical Safety and the proper use of safety equipment.

Understanding the Standard Operating Procedures and equipment associated with their duties.

Understanding the significance of Quality Control procedures and performing their work accordingly.

Our portfolio of custom kitting, equipment and ancillary solutions, and biorepository and archiving services stands at the ready - to serve any trial, of any size, anywhere in the world. In this role you will:

• Manage material processing to ensure that all material is processed within a set time frame, meeting applicable regulatory and SOP compliance, and provide completed shipment files to Customer Care (Client Services) Department.
• Keep their applicable service line Supervisor and Facility Operations Management informed of day-to-day progress, including irregularities and deviations from the normal.
• Knowledgeable of Standard Operating Procedures of the Archives.
• Manage a team of Technicians - Biorepository (including training).
• Provide training in the safe use and operation of facility equipment, databases, and processing techniques to Technicians - Biorepository.
• Perform actual archiving procedures necessary for the completion of assigned projects.
• Ensure work areas are safe, clean, and presentable at all times.
• Responsible for the development and continuous improvement of the Archives' Standard Operating Procedures, which are required to meet applicable US and OECD regulations for the archival of research material.
• Responsible to stay abreast of operating procedures to evaluate and recommend improvements, resources, and training which will improve the operations and quality of the Archives.
• Maintain inventory of processing supplies.
• Performance of other duties as assigned by their applicable service line Supervisor, Facility Operations Management, or appropriate supervisory personnel.
