Job Description
McLeod Construction– a long-standing Seattle general contractor specializing in residential and light commercial restoration and repairs – is seeking aLead Carpenterwith at leastfive years of experiencein multifamily, apartment, or condo remodeling.
This is abags-onleadership role — the Lead Carpenter will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities on the jobsite while working alongside the team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality.
We’re looking for someone who can work both independently and collaboratively, communicates clearly with clients, subcontractors, and project managers, and maintains a professional, even-tempered approach on site. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to balancing speed with precision.
Work is primarily located throughout theSeattle, Bellevue, and Everettareas. We are currently seekinglocal candidatesin the Greater Seattle region.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Lead and perform hands-on carpentry and other construction tasks on various projects
• Coordinate daily work with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors
• Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are consistently met
• Maintain accurate daily logs and communicate job progress
Qualifications and Skills
• Perform interior finish and repair work, including:
•
• Drywall finishing, blending, and texture matching
• Interior painting and touch-ups
• Installation of doors, windows, trim, millwork, and baseboards
• Cabinet repair/installation
• Flooring installation (vinyl, carpet, LVP, wood)
• Tile installation (showers, surrounds, and floors)
• Laminate countertop fabrication and installation
• Read and follow plans, work orders, and insurance repair scopes
• Ensure a clean, safe job site and maintain professional communication with homeowners and team members
• Strong understanding of residential remodeling and repair construction processes
Requirements
• Minimum5 yearsof field construction experience (including2 yearsin a supervisory role)
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual a plus
• Reliable, organized, and committed to teamwork and customer satisfaction
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing labor-intensive work in various weather conditions
• Must have reliable transportation
• Pre-employment drug test, motor vehicle record, and background check required
